The Mikael Froden Turbo Tube Variant




This pattern has been tied so you can see the effects that a turbo cone head has on how a fly swims and the tying sequence.


Materials:


Tube of your choice to suit conditions.


Silk: Black


Rib:  Gold oval


Body: in 2 halves. Rear Opal tinsel  Front Rust coloured Glister


Body Hackle:   Golden Olive Yellow  palmered through the body.


Wing:  Brown under pearl lite bright under Yellow under silver holographic lite bright under Orange under 2 strands of Gold Gliss and glow under black.


( Note the hair used in this fly is Temple Dog Hair but you can use any hair such as Artic runner, Artic Fox and Goat for the longer lengths. I have picked these colours for the River Usk but you may use what you want. After all it is your fly)


Collar Hackle: Burnt Orange schlappen (The long webby feather from a cockerals tail) under a black ostrich body feather dyed black.


Cheeks:  Tied long Jungle Cock Eye Feathers.


Head:  Turbo tube of the size to suit your needs (Bigger the head longer the wing)
