Week One

The Barrie Welham Nymph

Hook: Size 16 to 12 down eyed nymph hook( Kamasan B400)

Silk: Black 8/0

Tail: Globrite flossin Yellow(no10) and Red(no4) cut short.

Rib: Fine gold oval tinsel

Body: Brown Wool ( I have used Rusty Brown Flyrite dubbing on this pattern)

Breathers: White cock hackle fibres

Head:  Black

 

The Little Red Spinner

Hook: Size 18 to 14 down eyed dry fly hook (Kamasan B405)

Silk: Red8/0

Tails: Cream coloured micro fibbetts

Body: As silk

Wings: Siliconised polyproperlene trimmed to shape

 

Week Two

Adams Irresistable

Hook: Size 16 to 12 Downeyed dry fly hook (kamasan B405)

Silk: Black 8/0

Tail: Deer hair fibres

Body: Spun and trimmed deer hair

Wings: Grizzle or plymouth rock cock hackle tips

Hackle: Red Game cock hackle wound through the wings.

 

Lunns Particular

Hook: 16 to 12 down eyed dry fly hook ( Kamasan B405)

Silk: Tan 8/0

Tails: micro fibbetts in reddish brown or clear

Body: Stripped Rhode Island red cock hackle or red game wound on in touching turns.

Wings: Dun cock hackle tips tied spent

Hackle: Red game wound through wings.

 

  

Reversed Para Dun

 

Hook: Tiemco R200 size to suit hatch (Size 14 for Demo)

Silk: Cream or pale yellow

Tails: Micro fibetts grey or cream

Wing: Siliconised Polypropylene coloured grey or white

Hackle: Dun cock hackle tied parachute. 

  

 The Kylie Shrimp

 

Hook: Salmon double size 8

Silk: Red

Tag: Silver wire or fine silver oval

Tail: Strands of orange bucktail, orange twinkle or crystal hair and a Golden pheasant red breast feather over.

Butt: Black floss

Body in two parts: rear flat copper tinsel, front black floss.Rib: silver oval

Mid hackle: Orange cock fibre tied as a beard above and below at mid section of bodies.

Front hackle: Blue gallina under.

Wing: J.C tied back to back with orange cock hackle fibres over

Collar: Orange cock wound;

Head: Red     

 

Week Five

 The Concoction

Hook:  B400 size 10

Silk: Black

Body: seals fur in olive and red

Body Hackle:  Red GameWing: Rolled hen pheasant tail.

Hackle: Red Game tied as a beard or false hackle.  

The Competetion Damsel Nymph

Hook: B400 size 10

Silk: Olive

Tails: Olive Cock hackle fibres

Rib: Gold oval Fine

Body: olive seals fur or similar

Wing case: Pheasant Tail Fibres

Legs:  Partridge neck feather dyed Olive

Head: Black 

The Damsel Nymph

Hook: B175 or B400 size 10

Silk: Olive 8/0

Tail: Olive Dyed marabou

Rib: Gold wire

Body: Marabou plumes twisted and wound on

Eyes: Red glass beads on nylon.

Thorax cover: Cock pheasant tail fibres

Thorax: Dark olive seals fur

Head: Olive silk.

Week Six

The Royal Wulff

  

Hook: size 14 dry (down eyed)Silk: Black

Tails: white calf tail

Body: In three parts, rear third Peacock herl middle third red silk floss and front third as rear.

Wing: White calf tail or body hair.

Hackle: Red Game cock hackles. 

 

Partridge and Orange

  

Hook: Size 14 wet

Silk: Pearsells orange

Hackle: Brown Partridge neck feather. 

 

The Waterhen Bloa

  

Hook: Size 14

Silk: Pearsells yellow

Body: mole or rabbit under hair

Hackle: Waterhen 

 

Week Seven

The Invicta.

  

Hook: Size 10 B400

Silk: Black

Tail: Golden Pheasant crest feather

Rib: Fine Gold oval

Body:  Dirty Yellow seals fur dubbing

Body hackle: Red Game Cock

Wing: Rolled Hen Pheasant tail feather

Beard: Blue Jay.  

Week Eight 

The Teal Blue and Silver

Hook:  Size to suit species this one is a B175 size 10(trout andd Sewin)

Silk: Black 8/0

Tail: Golden Pheasant Tippets

Rib: Oval tinsel

Body: Silver Mylar

Collar hackle: Blue cock doubled and swept down.

Wing: Rolled teal feather

Head: Black

The Mallard and Claret

  

Hook: B175 size 10

Silk: Black 8/0

Tail: Golden Pheasant Tippets

Rib: Gold oval

Body: Dubbed claret seals fur

Collar Hackle: Dyed claret cock hackle doubled and swept down.

Wing: Bronze mallard paired slips.

 

Week Nine

 The Crease Fly

Hook: Size 2 sea hook Tiemco 811s or similar

Silk: Uni Nylon 70 denier or similar

Tail: white bucktail fibres with some strands of pearl crystal hair

Body:  2mm white foam sheet.

Glue: Fishin Glue or similar type superglue

Eyes: adhesive 5mm eyes pre made

Varnish:  Clear such as Hard as Hull.

Edding marker pens in olive, yellow, blue and red. 

 

 

The Surf Candy

Hook: Varivas 2600 saltwater hook size 4

Silk: Monofilament invisible sewing thread

Body/Tail: Three layers of DNA Holo Fusion in Pearl, Smoke and Olive.  Mylar tubing over body then Expoxy resin over body area.

 Eyes: 3mm Pre made Epoxy eyes.

Ducks Dun

  

Materials:

Hook: TMC 103BL, size 13 – 19 or any down eyed dry hook
Thread: Brown
Tail: Grizzly Cock hackle fibres
Body: Fine Olive Dubbing
Wing: Bunch of CDC
Hackle: Dun Cock
