We are still awaiting the arrival of proper rain. The nghts are getting colder and there are still evening rises to late March Brown spinners. A large (size 12) dry pheasant tail should do nicely. A number of nice trout have been taken I am told in the last light on sedges. In regards to salmon there are a few on the beat showing quite freely in the glomings but there are not coming to the fly at all. The truth is we need water and plenty of it. Keep your legs crossed for the last few days of the season. 30th September see's the close of the trout fishing. Reports have been sketchy this year but it would appear that the most fun was had with the yellow May dun. Tight lines |
