The river levels continue to drop and I believe that we will need substantial rainfall soon to put the river back on track.




Forget salmon fishing until the rains come. Be aware that with the lack of water and the continuing warm spell the trout will need greater time to recover before being returned.


I have seen a number of olives and sedge on the water including Pale Wateries and light olives.


I would suggest that an olive F Fly be fished in the early evening in those areas of strong flow especially above Daniels Bath.


If you haven't been to the water recently you will be unaware that the trees have been trimmed in these areas to give easier access and casting room.


Don't give up just yet though rain must be on its way soon!!!!!!!!!
