What a week its turned out to be. I am of the belief that the river has fish in most beats on its course. Our members have been successful on both beats. On Monday two fish were hooked and lost and a guest Richard Stevenson caught and landed his first Welsh salmon on a 1 inch Willie Gun AluminiumTube fished on a floating line . he fish a small coloured grilse which was returned. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The water was slightlycoloured and fish were still running through. On Tuesday another small salmon of 6lbs fell to the rod of Mark Roberts caught on a size 10 Allys Cascade double fished on a floating line with a snowbee intermediate polly tip. ![]() ![]() The fish was returned to continue its spawning run. Terry Thomas had a successful afternoon with a spinning out fit and landed and returned three coloured fish of 10lbs 81/2lbs and 6lbs on his favourite balck and gold zebra toby. These fish were caught on the upper pool and there seemed to be plenty others in situ. ![]() If you can get down to the river its looking restored at last and there is still a good chance of a salmon. Do remember though it is better to return coloured fish to spawn. It is not right to believe that a coloured fish will smoke well. It won't it will just look the same coloured and taste of smoke!!!! |
