The Gwent Angling Society in partnership with Cwm Hedd Fishery and Hardy Greys have organised three two day Junior Academy courses at Cwm Hedd Fishery, Bassaleg near Newport.

The Gwent Angling Society in partnership with Cwm Hedd Fishery and Hardy Greys have organised three two day Junior Academy courses at Cwm Hedd Fishery, Bassaleg near Newport.

Each course will run from 10am until 4pm on each of the days and will involve instruction on entomology(Insect life in the water), Fly Tying, casting, fishing with the fly, wildlife and fauna recognition, landing, cleaning ,cooking and eating of trout.

The course dates are July 23rd and 24th, 2nd and 3rd August and lastly 22nd and 23rd August 2007.

The course is limited to those aged between 10 and 16 years.

All the coaching will be under the supervision of qualified and licensed angling coaches and subsequently the event will be insured.

The course is run free of any charge and has been financed from monies raised by the society throughout the year at specific events.
